Originally of the South Side, devoted brother, proud uncle, and faithful friend, died suddenly on June 6, 2021. Born August 9, 1928. Rich was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Michael; and sisters, Anna Kranack, Margaret Dedo, Alice Simmers, and Evelyn Dudukovich. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will all remember his gruffness and generosity, athleticism and love of sports, and colorful stories from his days as a man-about-town, long-time co-owner of Duke's Tavern on the North Side, and service in the U.S. Navy in the aftermath of WWII. Visitation Wednesday 2-6 PM in Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, 2323 E. Carson St. Funeral Service Thursday 11:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those wishing to honor his memory to donate to St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 1720 Jane St., Pittsburgh, PA. 15203 or a veteran's service charity.
