Ray served in the military and spent most of his service time in Germany. Following his return to civilian life he had several jobs, but the majority of his working years were spent at the J&L Steel Works in Pittsburgh. He was also known as an inventor of many unique uses for duct tape, much to his wife's dismay. Ray liked playing cards, telling corny jokes and especially enjoyed OPB, as he called it, " other peoples beer"! He loved many sports, but especially the ones in which his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were involved. Rubbing instant lottery scratch offs was a favorite pastime of his as well. He was an avid weather tracker, recording all weather related data on a church calendar, keeping them for year-to-year comparisons. Ray will be missed by many friends and family members because he was always such a joy to be around.
