Paul V. Sopkowiak

Age 67, of St. Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born on December 16, 1953, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Sylvester and Julann Sopkowiak. Paul graduated from South Side Catholic High School and earned both bachelor's and master's degrees from Duquesne University. Paul had a long career as a City of Pittsburgh High School teacher, primarily as a biology teacher. Paul will be missed by the many former students and fellow teachers that he had an opportunity to share time with over the years. He was preceded in death by sister, Nancy Arbasak and brother-in-law, Thomas Arbasak. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Kurzawski (Charles), and Linda Cook (James), all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by four nieces and a nephew, as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
