Melvin Joseph Cheran

Age 89, of Whitehall, passed away as a result of the ravages of COVID-19 on January 1, 2021. Devoted and beloved husband of 60 years to Mara (Wujnovich); loving father to Mark and Matthew (Daniel Foust); best friend to his granddogs, Woody and Alice. Predeceased by his parents, Mile and Stella (Evosevich); five sisters: Mary (Moe) Cannon, Nellie (Ralph) Burns, Mildred (Paul) Ostovich, Anna Mae (Pete) Drobac, and Rose Cheran; and two brothers: Nick (Norma) and George (Claire) as well as his cherished in laws: Robert and Anna Harkins, William and Ruby Miller, Leo and Milena McNicholas, and Nick Wujnovich (wife Jean survives). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and the many whose lives he touched through his gentle, caring, and giving nature. Due to the current pandemic, there will be no visitation. Burial will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. A memorial event will be planned at a later date.
