Age 77, of the South Side, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 21, 2025. Beloved husband of Carol Gmiter. Dear father of Kimberly Tucci and Stacey (David) DeMarzo. Grandfather of Gabriela, Christian, Jonathan, little Michael and Tiara. Brother of Bonnie (Gene) Thurner, of Harmonsburg, PA. Son of the late John and Jean Gmiter. Friends received Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, Inc. 2323 E. Carson St. Funeral Prayer Wednesday 9:00 AM in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Adalbert Church, Mary-Queen of Peace Parish at 10:00 AM. John proudly served the South Side community as a Funeral Director/Owner of John J. Gmiter Funeral Home until his retirement in 2003.
