John Anthony Bozic

Age 84, of the South Side, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Beloved husband of Phyllis (Wisloski) Bozic for 57 years. Dear father of Lori (David) Freund, Chrissy (James) Gardner, Janel Bozic (Lester Thompson), and John Bozic II (Brianna). Grandfather of Ariana Freund (Nate Evagash), Halie Bozic (Antwan Stanfield) of Florida, Alyssa Freund (Stephen Cassel) of Virginia, and Christopher Thompson (Zach Steinbuhler). Brother of Marlaine Pingielski of Texas and the late Gerrie Bozic (Englert). Survived by four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Friends received Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM in Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, Inc. 2323 E. Carson St. Funeral Prayer Wednesday 9:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial in St. Adalbert Church-Mary, Queen of Peace Parish at 10:00 AM. John was a devoted Committeeman of the 16th Ward, District 2 for 40 plus years and he proudly served in the infantry for the United States Army.
