Lovingly known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on March 2, 1928, Jackie lived a long life centered on family and kindness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Phillip Erfort, and her sisters Jean Carlins and Dolores Olejniczak. Jackie is survived by her sons, John Erfort and Phillip (Marie) Erfort; grandchildren Nikki (Channing) Erfort, Chris (Holly) Erfort, John (Annette) Erfort, Anne (Aaron) Bayliff, Kathy (Bryon) Butler; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Nancy Kosan and Mary Ann Martellotti. Jackie worked for many years in retail sales at Pittsburgh Mercantile Company, Bywise, and Joseph Horne Company.
Above all, Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Full of life and always smiling, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Jackie also cherished the many friendships she made during her time at Carnegie Park, where she touched the lives of many residents and staff members with her kindness and gentle spirit.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, 2323 E. Carson St. Pittsburgh, PA 15203. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Blessed Trinity Parish-St. Basil Roman Catholic Church, 1735 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210.
