Eugene "Gene" Selko

Eugene "Gene" Selko, age 81, a long-time resident of Bethel Park, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Demetria "Deena" Selko with whom he celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary on April 23, 2024. If you knew Gene you would know he didn't like to be celebrated but he enjoyed cheering others up, and being the life of the party with his good sense of humor. Gene proudly served in the United States Navy from 1966 - 1969. Surviving are two children, Beth Habbyshaw (Don) of Fredonia, PA and Jon Selko (Rebecca) of Ohiopyle, PA; two grandchildren, Austin Habbyshaw and McKenzie Selko; also several nieces and nephews. Interment service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd., Bridgeville, PA. 15017, with full military honors and a celebration of life to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org) in memory of Gene Selko. Arrangements by Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home.
