Elizabeth (Belajac) Vodzak

Elizabeth "Betty" (Belajac) Vodzak, age 85, of the South Side, passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2024. Betty was the loving daughter of the late Elias and Mary Belajac. She was the beloved wife of Robert Vodzak for 64 years and the loving mother of Diana Vodzak (Frank Gubser) and Tina Vodzak Harley (David). Betty was preceded in death by siblings George, Helen, Adam, John, Ted, Steve, Louis, Joseph, Robert, and Edward. She is survived by sisters Carolyn "Nini" Dimirack and Anna Marie Capan and sisters-in-law Pat Belajac and Dorothy Belajac. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law Mike Vodzak (Mary Ann), John Vodzak (Catherine), Ed Vodzak, Pete Vodzak (Jeannie), Irene Vodzak Kusmira (Al), Margaret Vodzak Mamula (Sam), Mary Vodzak Piatek (Joe), and Cecilia Vodzak Kareokowski (Fred). She is survived by sisters-in-law Anna Mae Arch (Larry) and Dolly Vodzak. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, Inc. 2323 E. Carson St. Pittsburgh, PA 15203 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Funeral Prayer Saturday 9:00 AM in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Adalbert Church, 160 South 15th St. Pittsburgh, PA 15203, Mary-Queen of Peace Parish at 10:00 AM. Sincerest gratitude to Vitas Hospice who provided compassionate care to Betty for several months.
