Age 66, of the South Side of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away surrounded by family on September 14, 2022, after a 10 year fight with Chordoma, a rare bone cancer. Charles passed due to complications from pneumonia. Charles was a Pittsburgh native who enjoyed living and building his life here with his life-long love, Ann. Charles' love for the city transcended his life of service to others and his family, and community, and through his employment as a Civil Engineer for the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) of Pittsburgh. Charles took every opportunity to build lasting artifacts that impact peoples' lives daily. Married on April 27, 1979, to the love of his life, Ann Terleski, Charles would go on to father ten children and dedicate his life to that love of family. Charles' life was defined by his love for Ann, as everyone who knew him would attest that without her, he was a man purposeless - "his wife, his life." Charles is survived by his wife, Ann; their ten children, Charles IV (Jamie), Zachary, Ethan, Jared (Lydia), Kaleb, Seth, Emery (Michael), Ariella (Roman), Eleazar, and Zera Eve; his four grandchildren, Charles V, James, Seth Jr., and Xander; and his sisters, Charlene and Gail. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Eva Miller of the South Side. The viewing will be held in Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, Inc. 2323 E. Carson St. on Saturday and Sunday 2-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. A Parastas Service will be held Sunday evening at 6:00 PM. The family sends a special thank you to all the staff at UPMC Presbyterian for their loving care and support - especially Dr. Paul A. Gardner and Dr. Carl H. Snyderman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Chordoma Foundations, https://www.chordomafoundation.org.
