Andrew Hornicak, 79, of Baldwin went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, unexpectedly at home on April 16th. He was proud of his Catholic Faith and adored his animals. Andy had a passion for classic American cars and auto racing, rooting for Chevrolet. His love for his sons, daughters-in-law, granddaughter, and grandsons comes first above everything else in his life and loved passionately. He always looked forward to visits from his family and was full of smiles and jokes. Andy was a master mechanic by career and never stopped working on cars even after retirement for his family. Andrew is preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Jo Ann Hornicak, his parents, Andy and Margaret Hornicak, and his sister, Geraldine Domzalski. His unconditional love for his wife has only been seen in fairy tales and story books. Andrew is survived by his brother, Dennis Hornicak, his three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Christa, Michael and Donna, Christopher and Lindsay, and five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Jacob, Shane, and Zachary. His memory and legacy will live on through his grandchildren, who he loved so dearly. Friends received Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, 2323 E. Carson St. Funeral Prayer Wednesday 9:30 AM in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Albert the Great Church, Blessed Trinity Parish at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, PA.
