Age 81, formerly of the South Side, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 12, 2018 in their home in Slippery Rock. Yush was the son of the late Mary Csajka; survived by his loving wife and best friend, Pat; his loving daughters, Michelle (Tom) Pomocki, Valerie Schlegel, Cindy (Dan) Murphy and Linda (Joe) Kownacki; granddad of Jamie, Stacie, Shannon and the late Nicole; great-grandpap of five; dear brother of Bill Hoffman (Pat), Larry (Alice) Hoffman and Bernie Hoffman; also several nieces and nephews. Yush was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired as a steelworker in 1999 from J&L/LTV Corp. Yush was a true sportsman and loved the Steelers. His true passion was boxing where he received a Golden Gloves award. Later in life, Yush would use his skill and experience to coach young men to give them confidence and competitive moves to compete in local boxing matches. Friends received Sunday 2-8 PM in Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, Inc. 2323 E. Carson St. Funeral Prayer Monday 11:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial in St. Adalbert Church, Prince of Peace Parish at 12 noon. Interment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 2:30 PM.
