Born in Czechoslovakia, immigrated to the US at the age of seven, age 94, formerly of Baldwin Boro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2017. Daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Smetanka of the North Side; beloved wife of the late John J. Klimchak, Sr.; dear mother of Ilona (Dennis) Ferris and John J. (Dr. Marybeth Cline) Klimchak, Jr.; grandmother of Maureen (Damien) Casten, Ryan (Sandra) Ferris, Sarah Klimchak, Justin (Lori) Klimchak, Jessica Klimchak and Jennifer Klimchak; great-grandmother of Thomas, Luke, Jacob Ferris, Jude Casten, Jackson, Noah and Aliyah Angelici; sister of the late Joseph (survived by Marie) and George (survived by Monica) Smetanka; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was a lifetime member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol Wreath 22. Friends received Sunday 12-2 and 5-8 PM in Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, Inc. 2323 E. Carson St. Funeral Prayer Monday 9:30 AM, Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 AM.
