Age 67, of the South Side Slopes, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Beloved husband of Bernadette "George" (Lawlor) Paschel; son of Evelyn J. Paschel and the late Robert A. Paschel; father of Tammy (John) Lynch, Jeannine (Jeff) Filia, Stacy (Chris) Neill, and Susie Hawrylak; brother of Regis (Marci) Paschel; grandfather of Amanda, Bryan, Josh, Juliana, Jimmy, Justine, Lauren, Vanessa, Kylie, and the late Jacque Fisher; great-grandfather of Taylor, Lilly, and Lucas. Friends received Saturday 6-8 PM and Sunday 2-8 PM in Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, Inc. 2323 E. Carson St. Funeral Prayer Monday 11:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul of the Cross Monastery at 12 noon. Robert was retired from the Pittsburgh Board of Education after 33 years of service.
