Age 87, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at UPMC Altoona, on Sunday, August 7, 2016. He previously resided at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. Husband of the late Theresa (Peszko) Milanak and the late Angeline (Ziegler) Milanak; beloved father of James, Mary (David) DiSanto, Robert (Bernie), Paula (Jack) Marquis and Michael (Julie) Milanak; dear grandfather of David (Lauren) DiSanto, Kristin (Justin) Smida, Matthew and Maria DiSanto, Robert Milanak, Amanda (Shawn) Flaugh, Jenna Marquis and Benjamin Milanak; loving great-grandfather of Alanna Smida and awaited Baby DiSanto; brother of the late Mary (Andy) Kedzuf, Andrew (survived by Emily), John (survived by Susan) and Anna (John) Tatka; also many loving nieces and nephews. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after 38 years of service from the H.J. Heinz Co. Friends received Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM in Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, Inc. 2323 E. Carson St. Funeral Prayer Thursday 9:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial in St. Adalbert Church, Prince of Peace Parish at 10:00 AM.
