Age 83, lifetime resident of the South Side, passed peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2016. Beloved fiancé of Hilda Lendl; dear brother of Marion Cready, Anna Mae (Pat) Carnevale, Fran Sekula and the late Steve and Andrew Sekula; uncle of Lisa Ann Sofish and Patrick Carnevale and the late Thomas Cready Jr. John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Army Baseball Traveling Team. Friends received Tuesday 2-8 PM in Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, Inc. 2323 E. Carson St. Funeral Prayer Wednesday 9:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial in St. Adalbert Church, Prince of Peace Parish at 10:00 AM. Contributions may be made to Children's Hospital Free Care Fund.
